#Support

Let’s face it: Being a university student can be a very great but also a very challenging experience. Exam stress, doubting your path, personal struggles. Sometimes we need help – and that’s okay! Students at the University of Salzburg can access many great means of support:

1) The Psychological Counselling Services (in German: Psychologische Studierendenberatung)

The Psychological Counselling Services are a great resource if you’re looking for professional and uncomplicated support. Their team consists of psychologists and psychotherapists, who are specialised in supporting students in times of need. Their services are completely free of charge for students! Amazing! They’re also conveniently located in the city centre (address: Mirabellplatz 9)!

Their services are diverse and tailored to the kind of support you need. They offer one-on-one counselling, coaching, webinars and even group settings. In case you’re unsure about your choice of study, the Psychological Counselling Services can also offer guidance.

Do you think the Psychological Counselling Services might be for you? Then contact them via email (psbsbg@plus.ac.at) to arrange an initial consultation.

You can also find them on Instagram (@studierendenberatung_salzburg).

2) ÖH disability division

The ÖH disability division is there for students with a chronic illness or disability who need help with uni-related things, whether it concerns a lack of accessibility or problems with a professor. You can also contact them if you want to meet other chronically ill students or simply chat about topics like disability and ableism.

The ÖH disability division also organises cool events, like a neurodivergent rage room with the slogan: You are welcome, just as you are!

In this reel, Mai and Fabio, who work for the ÖH disability division, tell you about the amazing work they do.
