We LOVE USI, the University’s sport institute. Whether it’s ball sports, dance, endurance sport or fitness – each semester USI offers a great selection of inexpensive sport courses for students. We’ve already tried loads of them, and they have really enriched our time at university. In the USI programme you’ll find weekly courses but also some which take place over the course of a weekend and can become a real group experience! Since the offer is primarily for students, you can also meet nice people from other departments.
USI also offers its own gym in the South of Salzburg with student-friendly prices AND and it even comes with a sauna! Check it out, and enjoy the beautiful mountain views while running on the treadmill!
Here you can find the link to the USI website (incl. their semester programme).
The Career Center is the place for you if you’re looking for additional courses that can support your personal development and aid you in your professional life. Speaking different languages can be an important skill in one’s (professional) life. Besides that, being able to converse in different languages can be truly enriching. The Language Centre at the University of Salzburg offers courses for 12 different languages, including English, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Russian and Swedish.
Besides general language courses, it also offers special ones, such as courses in Business German and English.
If you want to start learning a completely new language, the winter term is the preferable time to do so, as a lot of advanced language courses happen in the summer term. A test (without any pressure and just for your own reference) will help determine your language level and assign you to the right course, in case you want to improve already existing language skills.
Courses at the Language Centre are significantly cheaper for University of Salzburg students – a great chance to improve one’s language skills!

Making music together can be a truly enriching experience. If you don’t want to sing or play an instrument yourself, both the choir and the orchestra also organise great concerts!
