#garden

As students, we spend a lot of time indoors – in seminar rooms, studying at the library or at home writing papers. Because of this, we appreciate short – or long – breaks in nature, which can be found almost everywhere in Salzburg.

Botanical garden
Did you know that the university has a botanical garden? If you study at NLW, it’s a great place for a relaxing lunch break – and even if you don’t, it’s worth a visit!

To find the botanical garden, leave NLW through the back entrance, where the pond is located. Walk along the pond and behind the faculty building and you’ll see the entrance to the garden!

In the garden, there are a lot of benches for a quiet break but also different tours and things to see. The atmosphere in the garden is very special – ideal for recharging your batteries.

Opening hours
April and October: Tuesday to Friday, 9 am – 4 pm.
May to September: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am – 6 pm.
November till March: closed

closed on Mondays

Strebergarten
Looking at plants isn’t enough for you but you actually feel like gardening? If that’s the case, the ÖH club Stebergarten might be for you! It’s a super nice bunch of students who casually meet up to garden and farm at a piece of land next to NLW – and just have fun gardening!

What a great initiative!

Here you can find the club’s Instagram-page.
